Near the Gas Vents is a group of Diseased Wisewood. They carry young bugs inside their bodies. Those young bugs release noxious fumes that can repel animals. We can even use it as a poison.
You'll have to defeat the Diseased Wisewood near the Gas Vents and gather up the young bugs that live inside them.
Be careful when you touch them; the smell will rub off on your fingers, and once it's on there, it's impossible to get it off! You'll have to scrub for hours!
