The workers of Steam Mine Mountain have been suffering from food poisoning!
Also, locals have recently seen a black shadow lurking about; rumor has it that it's a ghost. Workers here are too anxious about the apparition to properly do their jobs. Oddly enough, wherever the shadow is seen, a rotten stench hangs in the air, and a viscous mucuous drips down the walls.
Perhaps these incidents are connected. I'll try to gather more information. Meanwhile, please check the site if you can.
I have just received a response from Ilya. Apparently, the cracks in the barrier of Deepfathom were caused by Carso's growing power. They've pledged to seal up the gaps.
Luckily, even Deepfathom's most horrid creatures hurt themselves when they pass through the barrier, so they are not at full strength. Hunt down the beasts while they are injured, or your task will be all the more difficult later!
